It doesn’t feel quite right to refer to copper as a “trend.” Dating back more than 10,000 years, it’s actually man’s oldest metal. Copper is the only metal other than gold that has natural color. The metallic shade adds a warm, timeless feel to any decor – it’s not too rustic or too glam. Commonly seen in French design, it’s perfect for adding a graceful, minimal accent.
DIY Ampersand
To add a touch of copper to my space, I spray painted a cardboard ampersand that I found at the craft store. I love how it makes a subtle, classy statement – and it looks like real metal!
Materials needed:
- Metallic spray paint
- Cardboard ampersand or letter/symbol of your choice
(You can find these items here and here!)
Spray 2-3 coats of paint and let dry. Couldn’t be much easier than that!
Incorporating copper into your decor
Copper can complement any style, and it’s a design staple that’s here to stay.
