The idea of working from home may sound like a dream, but it’s certainly not without challenges – that’s for sure. And by challenges I mean distractions, lots of them.
It look me a few years to find a system that was easy to stick with and that actually worked. I’m so excited to share my tried and true method for time management during the work day!
Truth is, you save SO much time and precious brain power when you’re not wondering what to work on next. Having an outline eliminates all the energy needed to constantly realign and shift focus between tasks.
Meet: Our FREE Daily Planner Printable
This sheet gives you the framework to lay out your day in a simple and FAST way – we’re talking less than five minutes. (We’re all busy, no need for complicated processes.)
The Daily Schedule download is currently available in the United States.
How to use the Daily Planner
1. Download + print.
2. Look at your list of to-dos, and plug each one into a time slot. Write in pencil so you can adjust as needed throughout the day.
3. Give yourself enough cushion, overestimate how long something will take you, and don’t forget to include breaks.
Creating a game plan for your day also helps with work + life balance; something that becomes even trickier when working from home. If your work is anything like mine, you’re never actually ‘done.’
With this daily planner, you have a clear starting and ending point so you can save room for all the other things that matter most :)
BONUS TIP
Use a time tracking app like Toggl to see where your hours are actually going. The free version is perfect!
Maybe it felt like you spent 45 minutes on something but in reality it was 2 hours, or vice-versa.
Having this insight will help you plan your day even more accurately. If you’re a freelancer, it also helps with pricing yourself to ensure your time is covered.
Stop the clock whenever you take a break or get distracted. Doing so will hopefully help you be more aware of distractions and provide an incentive to stay on track :)
Not an ad, I just adore Toggl and have used it for years!
